Just another great sunrise in Bullhead City. We left Tuesday morning for the Grand Canyon and planned to spend the 3 or 4 days exploring there and Jerome/Sedona area. We ended up only spending one day at the South Rim, they were doing controlled burning on North Rim so it was very smokey and pictures were disappointing. We took the motorhome down 89a from Flagstaff through Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona and then on to Cottonwood for a basecamp to explore Sedona & Jerome. It was a little tense coming down Oak Creek Canyon with a motorhome pulling the pickup, the road is narrow with lots of traffic, no turnouts, sharp curves, no shoulder, and 7% grade. The sign at Flagstaff said no trucks over 50' in length but we didn't think that applied to motorhomes (I'm not so sure now, were about 58' w/tow veh). We didn't see another motorhome on that stretch of road. Some of the most beautiful scenery we've seen yet and no place to stop & get a photo. We found a great rv spot here in Cottonwood, Rio Verde RV and the weather is warm, 89 deg. yesterday, which felt good after a couple of 33 deg nights at Grand Canyon. We're going to go to Sedona & Oak Creek area this morning. We'll post some photo's tonight.
